Commercial anchoring equipment is engineered for continuous heavy-duty use — rated for higher loads, built with commercial-duty drivetrains and classed to ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s or BV standards. Recreational windlasses are sized for occasional use on private vessels and aren’t classification-rated.

Muir’s commercial and Mega-line systems are engineered to comply with ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register and Bureau Veritas classification requirements, supporting newbuild and retrofit projects that require class approval.

Yes. Each system is engineered via CAD/CAM to the vessel’s anchor handling, towing or offshore operating requirements, with split windlass configurations and optional smart chain-deployment monitoring available.
