Auto Anchor
Auto Anchor Control, Counter & Remote Solutions
Auto Anchor provides windlass, drum winch, and anchor winch control solutions that are compatible with most vertical, horizontal, and drum winches. The system is highly flexible: besides managing the primary anchoring mechanism, it can also control auxiliary equipment such as bow thrusters, davits, or deck lights. The product range covers control-only units, chain/line counter units with readout, and automatic anchoring systems—all designed to integrate smoothly with your vessel’s setup.
Control Series
These wired controllers are usually installed at the bow (inside the chain locker) for direct control of windlasses, drum winches or anchor winches.
-
AA342: A four-button wired control capable of handling single-speed dual-windlass setups, two-speed single windlass, or a windlass + auxiliary control (e.g. bow thruster).
-
AA320: A simpler windlass controller with up/down single-speed control for a windlass.
Panel-Mounted Series
Designed for use at the helm station, these models bring control and readout to your fingertips.
-
AA150: Provides readout only (no control), ideal for pairing with other control solutions.
-
AA560: Offers both readout and control in one unit.
-
AA800: The latest model, featuring readout, control, and compliance with NMEA 2000 standards.
Control with Chain Counter Series
These models provide both remote control and real-time chain/line count readouts, plus automatic anchoring functionality. Each kit includes a base station control unit, to which a single wire is connected to the windlass or winch. In the wireless version, the base station features an internal antenna to communicate with the remote unit.
-
AA710 (Wireless): A handheld wireless comtrol remote that delivers both windlass/winch control and a live readout of anchor depth. It includes full automatic anchor deployment/retrieval capability. For vessels with thick hulls or where the remote unit sits far from the base station, an external antenna is recommended.
-
AA730 (Wired): Offers the same functionality as the AA710, but in a wired control version.

Why I really like Muir winch and anchor gear
“There are a number of reasons why I really like Muir winch and anchor gear. When we were cray fishing, then drop lining, the muir gear is simple to operate, no matter what the sea conditions are”

we’ve always had a good working relationship
“we’ve always had a good working relationship with Muir. Never a problem, and never any reasons for there to be one, because their product is very good.”
- Jock Muir,
Make sure the winch you design
“Until I retire Ill still be unofficially selling Muir winches because it’s the best production the world. I recommend it because it’s my reputation riding on everything I build. You have to be able to put your hand on your heart… when you recommend a product. I have history with Muir now, I don’t check any of their specs or equipment… I just trust them 100%”
